Our students had the wonderful opportunity to attend an engaging and inspiring guest speaker session by Abdullah A. Basalamah, Area General Manager & Vice President of Rooms at Far East Hospitality Management (S) Pte Ltd on 12th May 2026.

During the session, Mr Abdullah shared his inspiring career journey in the hospitality industry and reflected on how he first started in the field. He spoke about the experiences and opportunities that shaped his path towards becoming an Area General Manager and Vice President of Rooms. Students also gained insights into the challenges he encountered throughout his career and how passion, resilience, commitment, and hard work played a key role in helping him overcome obstacles and achieve success.

Beyond sharing his career journey, Mr Abdullah highlighted the importance of professionalism, service excellence, leadership, and having the right attitude when working in a fast paced and service-oriented environment. He also shared practical advice on personal development, career growth, and the importance of continuously learning and adapting to remain relevant in the hospitality industry.

The session provided students with a deeper understanding of the many career opportunities available in hospitality while giving them valuable real-world perspectives on the industry. Most importantly, the sharing inspired students to stay motivated, believe in themselves, and confidently pursue their passion in building a meaningful and successful career in hospitality.
