Mr Er Kwong Wah

BBM, PBM, PPA (E), PBS

Mr. Er Kwong Wah is a distinguished public servant who dedicated 27 years to the Singapore Civil Service. As Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education (1987-1994), he shaped the nation’s education landscape, overseeing universities, polytechnics, ITE, and schools. Post-retirement, he served as Governor of United World College of South East Asia, Board Trustee of SIM University, and Member of the Board of Governors of Raffles Institution, receiving the Ministry of Education Service to Education Award in 2013.

Beyond education, Mr. Er impacted community development as a Grassroot Leader for 21 years, serving as Chairman of Toa Payoh Central Citizen Consultative Committee and District Councillor, Central Singapore Community Development Council. His nation-building contributions were recognized with the Public Service Star (2009), Public Administration Medal (Gold), and conferred the Commandeur dans l’Ordre des Palmes Academiques by the Government of France.

Mr Sylvan Braberry

General Manager, Singapore Polo Club

Since joining the golf and country club industry in 2006, which saw him recognized as best general manager at every golf or country club that he managed, he served two stints at the Singapore Island Country Club and was recognized as the best CEO in the club’s history.

Sylvan has spoken at regional conferences and written cover stories for international golf magazines. He is a consultant on Clubs and has been engaged by law firms as an expert witness on Club related matters.

Sylvan is a strong believer in developing human capital and continues to support the industry in many ways.

Mr Muhammad Fandi bin Ramlan

Fandi is an experienced professional with over a decade in the hospitality industry. His diverse background encompasses significant roles in pre-opening and luxury hotels and restaurants, with notable brands such as One Farrer, W Singapore, Amara, Sofitel, and Furama. Fandi’s strength lies in his analytical skills, and he employs data-driven strategies to optimise operations and improve customer satisfaction. His extensive expertise demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence, innovative problem-solving, and exceptional guest service. Fandi currently serves as an adjunct lecturer and industry consultant.

Mr Lens Gwee

Hospitality Professional, President of the Food and Beverage Management Association Singapore

Mr. Lens is a dedicated and passionate professional with over 40 years of experience in the hospitality and service industry, spanning international hotels, local establishments, chain restaurants, and golf & country clubs. His career has been defined by a results-driven and self-motivated approach, coupled with exceptional leadership and people management skills.

Throughout his extensive experience, Mr. Lens has excelled in various areas including project management, building and facilities oversight, pre-opening operations for hotels and restaurants, cost management, food safety, and team building. He has also been involved in business planning, mystery audits, developing work processes, and creating new standard operating procedures to optimize performance. His ability to analyze needs and implement solutions that deliver tangible results is one of his greatest strengths.

As a certified trainer with an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Mr. Lens takes pride in mentoring and training the next generation of hospitality professionals, preparing them to become future leaders in the industry.
