Career Fair Simulation

On July 31, 2024, our Diploma in Hospitality Operations (DHO) and Bachelor’s in International Hotel Management (BDIHM) students teamed up to host an exciting career fair simulation. This collaborative event allowed the DHO students to hone their communication skills, while the BDIHM students took the lead in event organization and human resources training.

During the simulation, senior BDIHM students acted as interviewers, conducting mock interviews with junior DHO students. The BDIHM team handled all event logistics, ensuring everything ran smoothly, while the DHO students focused on refining their resumes and mastering their interview techniques.

Learning Outcomes for DHO (Principles of Communication):

1. Master verbal and non-verbal communication skills for job interviews.

2. Create professional resumes.

Learning Outcomes for BDIHM (Human Resources III):

1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of human resource management.

2. Discuss the importance of employment equality.

3. Analyze and evaluate employee performance.

Learning Objectives: This career fair simulation was designed to help students develop practical skills in networking, resume writing, interview techniques, career exploration, event logistics, and professional confidence—equipping them to succeed in real-world job search scenarios.

The hands-on experience allowed DHO students to perfect their resumes, practice interview skills, and learn career fair etiquette, all while receiving valuable feedback from the BDIHM team. Meanwhile, the BDIHM students honed their leadership and event management skills, fostering teamwork and building stronger connections with peers from other programs.

This collaborative simulation provided our students with a platform to boost their professional confidence and gain essential skills, preparing them to tackle future career opportunities and achieve their career goals.
