Singapore’s new Integrated Resorts (IRs) at Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa provide the region with exciting opportunities for the hosting of events and international conferences. As such, there is now an unprecedented need for relevant professional and qualified people.
The SISH Institute Higher Diploma in Events Management enables students to become employable in this emerging industry and thus fulfill this need.
The program aims to equip students with the up-to-date knowledge and practical skills required for this dynamic industry. Besides event industry-specific modules, students will also experience course work that focuses on general business topics.
This will provide them with a full complement of the skills needed in the business of events management. Students also have the 6 months of industrial attachment where they can gain valuable practical experience.

Entry Requirements
- Minimum Age: 17 Year Old
- Local students:
- At least 1 GCE “A” Level pass; or Diploma equivalent to Level 3 of UK qualification framework in any discipline.
- International students:
- Completion of Senior High School Qualification (11th Year); or Diploma equivalent to Level 3 of UK qualification framework in any discipline.
- Obtained SISH’s Certificate in English as a Foreign Language Intermediate, or attainment of IELTS 5.5/TOEFL 500, or its equivalent

- Obtained a passing mark of 60% in all examinable module
- Complete and pass the Industrial Attachment.
Progression Pathway
- Students who complete the Higher Diploma in Events Management are able to enroll in Advanced Diploma in Events Management and others Diploma awarded by SISH Institute

In this module, students will learn how to create financial statements, examine how costs are classified, how budgets are created and the various reports generated. Utilising key accounting concepts, the students will analyse how financial information is used to evaluate organisational performance and to make effective management decisions.
This module defines IT (Information Technology) and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in the context of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Students will learn the evolution of ICT over the past two decades and operational uses of ICT in travel, tourism and hospitality businesses.
This module explores general marketing topic areas, which include: principle and concepts of marketing, marketing strategy, marketing research, and sales process and consumer trends. On completion of this module, students will gain a theoretical and practical understanding of managerial marketing decision making.
Students will learn the principles and practices of delivering consistent quality service. Students will acquire knowledge and skills needed for customer relationship management and formal business communication. The course further equips students with the necessary skills to communicate with customers and the rules of etiquette in social exchanges.
This module offers an overview of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. It explores the inner workings of various components of lodging, food service and travel organisations. Students will gain a better understanding of the hospitality and tourism businesses, identify the profile and travel pattern and motivation of travellers, their needs and requirements, and how resources are managed to meet their needs.
This module is designed to provide students with an introduction to the concepts of event planning and management. Students are exposed to the key areas required for staging an event, covering the whole process from creation to evaluation. It looks at the concepts involved with event planning such as design, research, planning, organisation, and logistics management, marketing and promotion, event evaluation and reporting.
This module examines the practices, procedures and safeguards associated with risks in events. It explains how to identify, analyse, manage and control risk while organising an event. It helps the student understand the events manager’s response to risk exposures like emergencies, health and security hazards.
This module introduces students to professional development skills that will increase their employability profile. Students will learn effective communication skills and proper etiquette.
Towards the end of course, students will be attached to the industry as a trainee for 6 months.
