This week we welcome the Study Tour from China! In this one week holistic workshop, students will go for a series of comprehensive classes, fun activities, and hotel excusions. This workshop program is designed to impart SISH’s values such as quality and teamwork and to give them a clearer perspective of the hospitality industry today. Watch this space as we follow them on their daily activities in Singapore!

The next following days were packed with a plethora of fun activities! In the morning, the Chinese students were introduced to a more detailed inner works of Singapore’s Hospitality and Tourism industry. They participated in analyzing concepts on productivity related to Service, Quality, Communication, and Marketing. They also went to Mandarin Orchard for a Hotel Tour to learn about various hotel operations.

On the third day, we invited 2 HR Directors to give an important talk on career tips and job skills that are highly valuable in the hospitality, F&B, and tourism industry. As the Chinese students get ready to be prospective employees in the competitive industry, these vital information will give them a head start in becoming qualified candidates!

On day 4 of China-Singapore Study Tour Workshop, the Chinese students attended a series of practicum to experience being a “F&B Staff for a day” and “Hotel Staff for a day”. These practicum sessions are designed to give them supervised practical application of what they have learned in the previous days of the workshop.

Day 5 marked the end of the China-Singapore Study Tour Workshop. It was a short but fulfilling stint for the Chinese students. They have acquired volumes of valuable knowledge and skills for them to embark on their own hospitality career and academic journey. Many of them came as strangers and left this programme as good friends. We hope they have gained much insights through our holistic curriculum, hotel tours, and fun assignments.
