Diploma in Casino Management

SISH Institute’s Casino Management programmes provide students with an overview of the industry as well as the specific skills required to meet the needs of employers.

Besides casino industry specific modules, students will also experience course work focusing on general business topics. This will provide them with a full complement of the skills needed in the business of casino management, including marketing, sales, accounting, security and human resource management.

Students learn IT concepts during lectures. These concepts are reinforced in practical lab sessions using current standards of business computing. Topics include fundamental IT concepts, proficiency in Microsoft Office, understanding the issues of tool selection, standardisation and efficient integration of applications, recognising the importance of good computer management.

Focuses on how to manage people in the workplace. Students develop theories for understanding people and organisations, as well as the practical tools for accomplishing personal and organisational goals. Students learn through case studies, self-assessments, experiential exercises, readings, discussions, papers and group activities.

Provides an introduction to the role and importance of effective communication in the workplace, especially in the hospitality industry. Students will engage in the process of planning, preparing, and executing professional communication with an emphasis on written documentation. The course equips students with the necessary skills to maintain good relations with customers and the rules of etiquette in social exchanges.

Designed to offer a global overview of the hospitality and tourism industry. The course explores the inner workings of various components of lodging, food service and entertainment organisations. On completion students will be able to gain a better understanding of the hospitality and tourism business. Students will identify the profile and travel patterns of travellers, their needs and requirements and how resources are managed to meet those needs.

The aims and objectives of this course are to teach and train participants the basic procedures and correct way to handle chips and cards. This course also focuses on the games of Baccarat and Caribbean Stub Poker. Topics included are the actual rules of the game, the betting options of the players, payment odds and the gaming security aspects of the games.

Aims to prepare students to evaluate the negative and positive socioeconomic impact of gambling. The course will help to develop an understanding of gambling motivations in an international context, focusing on casinos and gaming venues, the cruise industry and the development of on-line gambling. The growth of this sector, international tourism and the hospitality industries will also be examined.

The primary purpose of this module is to develop future professionals for careers in the gaming industry. The programme provides the basic business and technical knowledge of gaming management
