We are delighted to warmly welcome our China Study Group to our SISH Campus this morning for the Singapore Hospitality Industry Immersion Programme.
The Chinese students will be here in Singapore for a week of study, fun, research, tours, and academic activities such as assignments and presentations. This afternoon, the students headed to a popular 5-Star hotel located at Orchard Road which is a bustling boulevard that is home to fashion brands, specialist stores, and many other lifestyle shops.
Mr Justin Ho, Learning and Development Manager, kickstarted an interesting presentation of the hotel’s background. As Mr Justin spoke about the hotel’s branding, mission, values, and history, his multilingual ability enabled the talk to be highly engaging and informative to the Chinese students.
After which, the students were invited to a lounge where complimentary drinks are served. The students were then broken into two groups – one was led by Mr Justin and the other was led by Mr Vincent, Senior Learning & Development Manager.
The students were invited to view the deluxe guest room that has special features such as an advance in-room technology that connects to a host of conveniences such as express check-in/check-out services.
Students also got the opportunity to explore the exclusive Meritus Club Lounge – a posh space themed in hues for an atmosphere of relaxed elegance.
Next, students toured two Michelin-starred restaurant Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro at Level 35. The students also visited ChatterBox, a restaurant at level 5 that specialises in celebrated local dishes such as Chicken Rice, Prawn Noodles, and more.
Besides the dining places, the students also caught a glimpse of the Banquet Halls where Mr Justin dwell into topics such as the local wedding scene, the costs of wedding dinner packages, and the operations behind these big events. We hope the Chinese students have enjoyed themselves in this hotel tour. There will be more exciting activities and excursions coming up. Stay tuned!
Last but not least, we would like to thank Mr Justin and Mr Vincent from the Learning & Development Department for their hospitality in conducting such an engaging hotel tour.
