Hotel Race – Advanced Diploma Students

Last Friday, our Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management (ADHTM) students successfully completed their Hotel Race. The students were separated into three different groups and have to work within their teams to complete the race.

Organised by the lecturers, the Hotel Race is a fun outdoor activity that allows students to utilise fundamental skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, street-smartness, communication, and ability to work with others under time pressure. Traveling with the team was particularly enriching because it gave them the opportunity to know each other.

Students have to take photographs and document their journey together as a group as they travel around Singapore. Some of the hotels that have to be covered during the race were Carlton Hotel, Swissotel The Stamford, Marina Bay Sands, Fullerton Hotel, and more.

We hope the students have fun interacting with their classmates in this outdoor assignment and also get an opportunity to get active. SISH strongly believes out-of-classroom learning is an important facet of our curriculum that can provide defining learning experiences and meaningful encounters for students. Congratulations to the winning team; The Avengers, who was the first who completed the race.

1st – The Avengers

2nd – 43 GB

3rd – The Untouchables
