“I am currently interning in Heritage Collection in Boat Quay as a Guest Experience Manager, and the hands-on experience has been great! There are different properties in one location, providing short term and long term accommodation in boutique hotels and serviced apartments. From the concept of combining the culture of Singapore, strategic placement of the properties (most are located within Singapore’s cultural districts) to the integration of modern technology with their check-in procedures piqued my interest the most.

My internship provided ample experience regarding guest handling, housekeeping, reservations, maintenance, and engineering matters. The majority of communication between guests and departments centres around WhatsApp. In my opinion, this increases efficiency and personalised service as compared to waiting for emails. This has also been mentioned in numerous guests reviews, especially the millennials and Gen Z’s. That said, I am looking forward to gaining more experience in Heritage Collection for the next half of my internship!”
