Our Student Council members were  fortunate to be invited for a seminar on China’s Growing Role in Global Energy Governance by Dr Hu at the National University, Singapore. In this seminar, Dr Hu presented his research findings on China’s global energy governance with three different case studies in Central Asia, Africa and the European Union. Dr Hu cited that due to lack of urgent needs at times, China would only drive major policy change if there was a major crisis hat occurs affecting the country like in 2017 (gas export decline).

In summary, our Student Council members agreed that they have learned a good insight on China’s current and future role in the global energy sector. Thank you to NUS Energy Studies Institute and also Dr Hu for holding this seminar!
