The students at SISH are often assigned practical assessments that require them to do primary research and interact with other classmates and school members. Our advanced diploma students studying the course hospitality and tourism management participated in a themed student fair on the Singapore reservoirs. The aim was to demonstrate that these reservoirs around Singapore can be sustainable and attractive for both the locals and tourists. The class was split into 6 small groups that were assigned different reservoirs in Singapore; Bedok, Marina Barage, Jurong East, Seletar, MacRitchie and Lower Peirce. Around each stall, 3D models of the area, themed decorations, videos, music and information sheets were provided for visiting individuals.
They successfully demonstrated how Singapore remains a green city by incorporating sustainable elements into their landscapes. Furthermore, our students also discussed the disadvantages of these reservoirs and suggested environmentally friendly improvements for the future.
